The Diploma of Business applies to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators. Individuals in these roles may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.
Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities. The Business Diploma provides a range of specifically selected units which are relevant to different career paths. This selection of units provides you with the opportunity to decide which elective units you will choose in your course based on the career path you wish to pursue.
The Diploma of Business consists of 8 units. In order to attain the AQF diploma qualification, it is necessary to demonstrate competence in all 8 of these units. The units are carefully selected after consultation with industry to ensure that we impart the skills and knowledge most relevant to employers; thus providing you with the maximum opportunity for employment success.
Business courses are conducted on campus three days per week from 9am–3pm with an additional one day in the Bedford Online Classroom. A free Supervised Study Period (optional) from 3.00pm to 4.00pm is also offered from Monday to Thursday.
One day per week spent in work placement is recommended for the duration of your course.
We can also make flexible part-time arrangements if you choose to study at a slower pace.
Note: Advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills are necessary in order to successfully complete a number of the above units. These skills are therefore delivered throughout the course.
