Course Description
The Diploma of Leadership and Management qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.
(This qualification articulates (with credit) into a degree program).
Course information
The Diploma of Leadership and Management consists of 12 units (8 core and 4 elective units). In order to attain an AQF qualification, it is necessary to demonstrate competence in all of these units.
Course Structure
Each course consists of a number of competencies (units) which when packaged together provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable them to carry out a range of tasks from introductory/intermediate levels (Cert III) to more advanced/management level functions (Diploma).
The Leadership and Management course is conducted on campus three days per week from from 9am–3pm with an additional one day per week in the Bedford Online Classroom.
A free Supervised Study Period from 3.00pm to 4.00pm is also offered from Monday to Thursday.
Whilst undertaking the above course, one day per week spent in work placement is recommended.
We can also make flexible part-time arrangements if you choose to study at a slower pace.

Note: Advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills are necessary in order to successfully complete a number of the above units. These skills are therefore delivered throughout the course.

Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Leadership and Management course have automatic entry (with ONE YEAR credit) into a Bachelor of Business or a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce degree at university. See the University Pathways section for more information.
